George Reid

George was born November 11, 1936, and passed away on March 27, 2022. He was the son of two Scottish immigrants, George L. and Mary (Carroll) Reid.  He is survived by two children, Julie (Mitchell) Bartoy and Lori (Todd) Mitchell and two loving step-children Robert (Dorie) Culkar and Veronica (James) Attinoto along with several grandchildren.  George has a sister, Mary Speen.  He is predeceased by his parents, older sister (Muriel) and wives Marie (VanDePutte) Reid and Jeannette (Culkar) Reid.

George was in the Air Force as a young man.  After his honorable discharge, he worked his way up to management positions for ADT Security Services and for the US Postal Service.  After retirement, he became a school bus driver and continued to work until his eyesight failed.  George loved his Scottish heritage, enjoyed traveling, a good meal, and was an avid lover of Coney Island hot dogs.

A memorial service will be held at Christ Church Fraser, 34385 Garfield Rd. Fraser, MI 48026 on April 9 with friends and family members gathering at 10:30 am and a service at 11:00 am.  A luncheon will be immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
