Harry Andrew Gorney, age 86 of Roseville, passed away on October 24, 2016. He was born on December 22, 1929 in Detroit. Retired from ARA Vending in 1992 after 22 years. Combat veteran of the U.S. Army, Korean Conflict. Life Member of VFW Bruce post #1146, Life Member of Father Solanus Casey Knights of Columbus Council #3797 and Honorary Life member of Fr. Solanus Casey Assembly #0521 Fourth Degree.
Beloved husband of Patricia (Mc Carthy) for 65 years. Dearest father of Ronald A. (Cheryl) and Janet P. Slabaugh. Proud grandfather of Ronald J. (Danielle) and Derek J. (Nicole). Cherished great-grandfather of Rece, Sophia, Sabrina, Devon and Dillon. Predeceased by parents Martin and Anna (Dusza) and siblings Martin Jr, Richard, Dolores Kane and Leroy. Survived by sisters, Marie Hippe and Lorraine Jeffries.
Harry’s family will always cherish the wonderful memories and good times that they shared. He loved sports and enjoyed golf, bowling and horseshoes, coached little league baseball many years ago for the Roseville Recreation Dept. Family and friends will gather Friday, November 4, 9:30am until time of Mass (10:00) at St Pio of Pietrelcina Church, (St Athanasius Campus) 18720 E 13 Mile Rd, Roseville, MI. Interment will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly Mi.
