Irene Stonchus

Irene Valerie Stonchus, age 85, was born in Poland on January 18, 1937, and passed away in Detroit, Michigan on May 4, 2022. Loving mother to Bill Madurski, Mark Madurski, and Matt Madurski. Treasured grandmother to Melanie, Crystal, Daniel David Jr., David James, David, Isabella, Kaleb, Logan, and Adrianna. Proud and Adored great grandmother to Heather. Dearest sister to Edward (Louise) Stonchus. Cherished aunt to Joey (Samantha) and Bridget.  She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Gilbert, children Valerie and Daniel David Sr., and parents William and Albina Stonchus.

For many years Irene worked as a counselor being an advocate for battered women.  She was a selfless person who loved contributing to charities. In her free time Irene enjoyed the casino, gardening, and being in nature. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends that knew and loved her.
