Joan Louise Downey

Joan Louis Downey, born January 18, 1960, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 21, 2025, at the age of 65.

Joan shared 44 years of marriage with her devoted husband, Patrick Downey. She was the loving mother of Sean Downey (Toni) and Maureen Downey, who were truly the center of her world.

She is survived by her siblings Don Wojewski (Diana), Sharon Rutkowski (Mark), and Carol DeRyckere (Jon), and was preceded in death by her brother Michael Wojewski and sister Karen Ezyk. Joan was a proud aunt to 13 nieces and nephews and a great-aunt to 7 little boys.

Joan was a quiet, kind soul with a gentle heart and a laugh that came easily. Her silly sense of humor and appreciation for life's simple joys made her a delight to be around. She cherished growing up in a big family and treasured time spent together. Some of her favorite recent memories included traveling out West to see the Grand Canyon and visiting Florida to enjoy the ocean.

Her happiest place was always at home, surrounded by the people she loved most. Joan will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her laughter, and the deep love she held for her family.
