Johnny Mills

b. September 24, 1948

Johnny (John) Mills, age 71 was born in Kentucky on September 24, 1948 and passed away very unexpectedly on Thursday, April 16, 2020. Beloved husband of 44 years to Kathy and proud father to Johnny Wayne (Dottie) and Sherry. Dearest brother to Zelma Jordan and Thelma Morse and the loving grandfather of grandchildren Kaitlyn, Dakota, Riley and Amanda. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Johnny worked as an Electrician/Sign Specialist for the majority of his career and was working with his friend and partner Bill Hawkins up until the “Stay at Home” issue was ordered a few weeks ago. Over the years, Johnny tirelessly supported his family and was a “father figure” to his two granddaughters. He offered to help just about any friend or neighbor who needed it. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and just simply going out to eat at one of his favorite restaurants. He was always ready to “just do something” no matter what it was.

He was predeceased by his parents Julia Bargo and Jim Mills and siblings James and Edna. Johnny will be remembered for his generosity, weird sense of humor and phrases, kindness, and most importantly, his unwavering love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends who knew and loved him.

Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, a graveside memorial at the family cemetery in Kentucky will be scheduled for a future date

A caring cremation was entrusted to Walter Scott Skupny Funeral Home, 28605 Gratiot, Roseville. Please share memories with the family at their "On-Line Tribute Wall" at skupnyfuneralhome.com
